1st Century Roman Pompeii Sword

The 1st Century Roman Pompeii Sword has a blade of high carbon steel and a wooden hilt. The pommel cap is brass and the felt tab fitted atop the guard protects the guard from being blemished during contact with the scabbard - it can be removed if needed. This Gladius length sword is based on a 1st century sword kept in Aalen Museum.

The wood-core scabbard is bound in brown leather and finished with brass accents and hanging rings. The embellished steel-and-brass decorative plates are fitted on a single side of the scabbard.
